 The Africa Childrens Development Trust (ACDT) Reg 1125815 was launched in 2007 by Nikki Collinson a chiropractor from the Isle of Wight, England, following a long held vision of helping children in Africa reach their potential. After spending 2 ½ months in Africa the foundations of the charity evolved & the Mission Statement was created:

 The launch of the Africa Children’s Development Trust (ACDT) in 2007 is the culmination of a vision I had several years ago. It was a vision that would hopefully lead me to working regularly with people & especially children in underdeveloped countries.I completed my first volunteer trip to Romania in 2003, but deep down I knew my heart was drawn to Africa. Since then in between the running of a busy clinic & continual study, my thoughts have been in overdrive as I began to lay the foundations of the ACDT.
